Director Zhang Attends The 8th hydropower for today forum

‘The 8th Hydropower for Today Forum’,with the theme to promote the "Belt and Road" initiative, inclusive and sustainable industrial development, and realization of the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union's Agenda which provides robust framework for industrial development in Africa,has been held successfully in Lusaka on 6 - 7 November 2018. It is jointly organized by Ministry of Water Resources of China, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)and Zambian Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Water Development. Other co-hosts are the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa(COMESA) and the International Center on Small Hydro Power (ICSHP). Zhang zhouping, Executive Director of JWHC OVERSEAS Co., ltd, also attended the Forum under invitation.
Wang Annan,Chief planner of the Ministry of Water Resources of the people's Republic of china,Li Jie, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Liu Heng, representative of UNIDO, Kipyego Cheluget, secretary of COMESA, and Mohamedain El-Nasr, CEO of RAERESA, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Focusing on the theme of “Hydropower Promotes Industrial Development in Africa: Opportunities and Challenges”, over 200 delegates from various parts of the world discuss major and urgent issues in the field of hydropower and the ways to further promote sustainable development.
The Forum has provided an important platform for countries to share experiences, and to seek cooperation and common development that covers developing and financing issues for hydropower projects in Africa; South-South cooperation and renewable energy development in Africa; and international standards of small hydropower and green small hydropower development.
Director Zhang gains a lot in the forum. As an international water expert and core member of international small hydropower, he sincerely wishes JWHC could make more contributions to green energy construction in Africa.
